My name is Melissa Murphy and I am a homeschool mum with 4 wonderful children, Shannon 10 yrs, Gabrielle 8 yrs, Kimberly 6 yrs, Josiah 4 yrs and a loving husband, Stuart.
In December 2007, I was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. Had operation in February 2008 and started the 6 cycles of chemotheraphy treatment in April 2008. I am now half way through the chemotheraphy treatment. It was a shock to find out that now we have to come up with NZ$55,000 to NZ$60,0000 to pay for the drug, herceptin that is not funded in NZ.
I have a young family and the ability to increase my chances of survival with herceptin is extremely important to me and my family, I need to be responsible for my family and do what I can in the natural and leave the supernatural to God, and seeing my children grow up and be there for them.
