Hi, Kia Ora, my name is Susan, in September 2007 I was diagnosed with HER2+ Breast Cancer. I would like to share the journey that I now find myself on hoping that it may help you or a loved one who maybe experiencing something similar.
I am a very private person so the idea of going "public" is a massive step for me. I have always considered myself to be fiercely independent and "asking for help", especially in such an open way and about something that for me is extremely personal, has not been an easy decision to make. However, in this electronic age it appears that the Internet does connect us and is a powerful way of reaching people and that's exactly what I'm trying to do - reach out to you.
Why am I doing this? To be blunt I am doing this to give myself the best chance of survival!
For the many women like me that are not in a position to simply "write the cheque" for their treatment, I am so grateful for my family and friends who are supporting me, and I feel very overwhelmed by those I don't know who are helping so selflessly.
